Before & After!!!

The much anticipated before and after pics are here! I warn you this is an extremely long post!

The first night we actually owned the house we felt like we should be a little productive, so Cody replaced about 15 burnt out light bulbs! (Notice he is still smiling here)

My dad and Tasha were pretty excited about our yard, let me tell you we have a ton of bushes, flowers, trees etc.! And they both really love landscaping, so the first weekend they came over and started the overhaul! No one had lived here for a year so the yard was extremely overgrown!

Mae really enjoyed finding all the bugs!
I can't tell you what a champ Mae has been through this whole process! She is such a good little worker and always loves to help! She really enjoyed painting all the walls. She told us that this was the little Pony castle and trees. So cute!
We had so much help along the way! Unfortunately I didn't snag pics of everyone but I'd like to thank everyone who came to help! I can't tell you how much we appreciate it!

Brother in law Spencer, his wife Kylee was around here somewhere too!
My Madre! I can't tell you how amazing this lady is! She worked on the house more than I did, she was always up to help me with whatever project I needed help with. We would have no where near this pretty of a house without her!
Aunt Joni pitched in quite a bit! My cousin Jer pitched in a day as well!
Cody's dad Rob was quite the painter! And Lynae was around here somewhere as well! I think her and Kylee were dodging me on purpose!
My poor dad got a whole crap load of odds and ends! He really shouldn't be good at so many things! We are so grateful that he is so talented and that he is so selfless with his time!
One of the projects my parents took on was the door knobs! They were covered with layer over layer of paint. It took countless hours to strip each and every doorknob down to its original brassy look. They also did all of the door hinges in the same way. I can't even begin to imagine how much time they spent. It saved us hundreds of dollars and its so amazing to have the original hardware in the house! You can't buy stuff like this anymore!
Master Bedroom!

We changed the light fixtures up a bit, I actually stole this one from my aunt Kims house when they renovated!

I totally thought this looks like a tavern light so we put the one from the master into the girls room, but for some reason Cody really liked this one so it found a new home over the stairs.
Before

We decided to embrace the vintage wallpaper in the girls room, we just tried to brighten it up a bit! Their room still needs a few final touches but its almost there!
After

The front Room

I love these chairs! Cody's grandparents bought them in the late 50's and I can't believe what great shape they are in! We were lucky enough to snatch them up!

The Dining Room

After
Cody did a ton of trim work in the house. This room I think its the most apparent!

The Kitchen

After
Luckily they had already renovated the kitchen, so all we had to do was change the paint!

The Playroom
WoW! What were they thinking? This wallpaper was a little much for me! My mom & Aunt Joni spent a good amount of time pulling that down, and I am so grateful!
After
Its definitely a little more messy!

Upstairs Bathroom
They had already mostly redone this bathroom as well, it was all stark white so we painted it green and thats about it!
Laundry Room/Bathroom
This room turned into the biggest nightmare of all! At some point they had redone some plumbing and left it all exposed, we thought we would just be able to cover it up. Well turns out it had some issues and they ended up having to tear the whole wall out! Somehow I didn't get pics of that! My dad had to redo a whole bunch of plumbing, and then Cody had to rebuild the entire wall. It was definitely a project we hadn't been anticipating! But all is well and now it looks real pretty!
Before

After
I got this old bathtub at an auction, it doesn't work but I thought it was real cute! The men who had to haul it in weren't to happy with my decorating idea tho!

This is the new wall!

I'm not sure the pictures do it justice! But at least you get a little taste of where we came from and what it has become!
So for the most part the house is pretty well done! We still need some furniture and some little decorations but I'm happy to say that most the work is done! We never could have anticipated how much work it was going to take to get it to this point, I'm so grateful for a hard working husband and great family who pitched in to help make our vision a reality! Even though it has been so hard I'm so grateful for the memories we've made making this our home!

I LOVE it! We are going to have to get down there to see it in real life. I can't believe you didn't just embrace and love that lovely yellow wall paper! Hahahaha so funny. We do have the same awful wood paneling in our basement, and I think I'm going to steal your idea and paint these bad boys one day. You guys have put so much work in to it, it's amazing!
