Goodbye Naptime
My dear sweet daughter has decided she no longer needs a nap, which is truly not the case. But boy does she fight the urge to close those eyes. So our afternoons are now filled with temper tantrums and timeouts. Last night shes sitting up to dinner and I look over to find that mid bite she has drifted off to sleep.

Happy Birthday to our Angel!
The day started as any other normal day, well as normal as it gets being 17, married and pregnant. I went to my doctors appointment that afternoon knowing that I didn't feel quite right, but not sure why. We soon got the devestating news, everything was not alright. I had to have an emergency C-section 6 weeks early. By the time I actually went into surgery it was around 9:30 that night. Baby girl made it through and they whisked her away to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. After i was all stitched up they rolled my entire bed up to the NICU to look at my little girl. I cannot even begin to descripe what overwhelming love and terror struck me in that moment. But for now, at least she was stable.
We had originally decided to name her Ava Rose, but as we looked into her eyes we knew that it didn't quite fit. Out of nowhere Cody came up with Kadence and somehow that was it. Kadence Rose Farnsworth.
The days that followed were indescribable. I would have never thought I could learn so much from someone so young. The strength that this beautiful little girl had to have to endure some much suffering is amazing. She was so strong willed and wanted to prove to the world that she was a fighter! She was so patient, she knew she had a purpose here and wanted to fulfill it. I know part of that purpose was to teach me how to endure, to love so much your heart wants to break, to know that all things happen for a reason, and to let others love and help me. And I know everyone around learned from her brilliant spirit.
Although I don't believe that this grief will ever be easy to bear and sometimes I am still extremely bitter, but I do know what a blessing it is. Because I got one of Gods greatest gifts, I got a child that forever lives in my heart and that is in heaven no longer suffering. And I still cannot believe what a great person she was, I have never learned more in all of my life than from the example she set.
So thanks for listening to my little rambling. This is just a sliver of the emotion on this day, it is full of sadness, but its her birthday! A day to celebrate what an amazing influence she was, and how she touched all of us in her life.

Merry Christmas

I took Mae to see Santa the Sunday before Christmas. She didn't really know what to think of the Jolly Old Man, but he was so cute with her. She just stood there and looked at him while he talked to her, we tried to get her to sit on his lap but that was making her a little nervous so mom got to sit on Santa's lap and Mae sat on Mom's lap. After she got down he handed her a candy cane and she told him "Thanks, Love you, bye!" It was really fun!
Christmas this year was pretty exciting, Mae had quite a blast. We got her a kitchen for her room and a pink metalic schwinn trike (it is adorable!). She loves the kitchen and the trike even though shes not quite big enough to ride it yet she likes to just sit on it. It was so fun watching her face lite up as she opened her presents!

Grandma's Cookie Bake!
So when my mom was little my great grandma would do a cookie bake every year around Christmas. My mom would always say those were some of her fondest christmas memories, so when us kids were born my grandma decided that she would continue the tradition. So every year we'd head over to grandmas and start baking cookies!! We would bake and decorate for hours! And grandma didn't ever get mad at us for the crazy mess we would make. I remember my cousin Crystal and I sitting at that table for hours just trying to make the most beautiful cookies. One of the best things we would get to do was grandma would trace our hand onto dough and we would get to decorate a cookie of our own hand. Then after hours of decorating we'd all get ready for bed and head downstairs where we would watch christmas movies all night long. It was so much fun! Even though the family has gotten very large my grandma still does a cookie bake every year! Though very few still sleep over it is such a blast to all get together, hang out and eat cookies! I asked my grandma this year about how many cookies she has to make, and her reply was about 300! WOW! What a lot of work she goes to! But I'm so glad she does, Mae has been able to go the last couple of years and I love that she is getting those same traditions that I cherish from my childhood, and even though she doesn't really get it yet I know she'll love to look back at the pictures and see what great times those traditions are!

Snow globe Collection
When I was a little girl I was fascinated with Snow globes so for Christmas one year, I was probably about 5, my grandma got me my very own snow globe. I was so excited by it that it became a tradition. Every year I get a new snow globe to add to the Collection. A few other people have added to the collection as well so I am up to 22 snow globes. Here they are all displayed for Christmas this year!
